LinkedIn Profile Preview Tool

See your LinkedIn profile before you update it: banner, photo, headline, About and your Featured section, on a phone and on a computer, light or dark. Free, no sign-up, and nothing is uploaded.

How to preview your LinkedIn profile

  1. Add your banner and photo. No banner yet? Make one in the free banner maker, then come back. Or “Try a sample” first.
  2. Write your headline and About. The counters follow LinkedIn’s limits, and the preview cuts About where LinkedIn shows “see more”.
  3. Add location and numbers, and the “Open to work” frame or the verification badge if you use them.
  4. Fill Featured. Add carousels, posts or images with a title and see them as cards.
  5. Check phone and desktop, light and dark, and download the preview as a picture.

Your profile stays in this browser. The pictures are read on your device and never uploaded.

The top of your profile, piece by piece

  • Banner. Your photo covers its bottom left, more on phones. Keep text on the right half.
  • Photo. Shown as a circle; your face should fill most of it. The “Open to work” frame covers its lower edge.
  • Headline. It follows your name everywhere: posts, comments, search. Say what you do and for whom at the start: in lists and under comments, only the beginning shows.
  • About. Only the first lines show before “see more”. Put the reason to read on in those lines.

Examples for each piece: LinkedIn banner ideas, 60 headline examples and About section examples.

LinkedIn profile sizes and limits (2026)

WhatSize or limit
Banner1584 × 396 px (4:1)
Profile photo400 × 400 px or larger, shown as a circle
HeadlineUp to 220 characters
AboutUp to 2,600 characters
Carousel (document post)A PDF, 4:5 or 1:1 pages

Featured sits right under About, so it’s the first proof people see. A carousel works well there: it shows what you know in a few swipes, and its cover is big enough to read. Put your best one first, then a post that brought you conversations, then a link to what you sell or offer.

What’s free, and what the app adds

This preview is free, with no account and no limit. The empty card in Featured is where aiCarousels comes in: write an idea and it designs a LinkedIn carousel in your style, ready to post and to feature.

Frequently asked questions

How can I see how my LinkedIn profile looks?

Fill in your banner, photo, headline and About here and switch between phone and desktop. It shows the layout LinkedIn uses, before you change your real profile.

Is it free?

Yes. Free, with no sign-up and no limit. Your profile is kept in this browser.

Can I preview my LinkedIn banner and profile picture together?

Yes. Your photo covers part of the banner, so the preview shows both in place, on a phone and on a computer.

How long can my LinkedIn headline be?

220 characters. The counter and the checks tell you when you go past it.

Can I preview the Featured section?

Yes. Add carousels, posts or images with a title, and see them as LinkedIn’s cards.

Are my pictures uploaded?

No. They stay on your device, in this browser’s storage.

Can I download the preview?

Yes, as a PNG of the phone or desktop view.
