The best TikTok carousel size (2026)
| Shape | Size | How it shows |
|---|---|---|
| 9:16 vertical | 1080 × 1920 px | Full screen. The size to use. |
| 3:4 portrait | 1080 × 1440 px | Black bars above and below. |
| 4:5 portrait | 1080 × 1350 px | Bigger black bars. |
| 1:1 square | 1080 × 1080 px | A small square in the middle of the screen. |
A photo carousel takes up to 35 pictures. JPG and PNG both work.
How to check and resize your slides
- Add your slides. Pictures, or a PDF: each page becomes a slide. Or try the sample.
- Read the checks. Slides of another shape, slides under 1080 px, and the count against TikTok’s 35.
- Pick the size and how to handle odd slides. Crop them to fill the screen, or fit them inside on a colour or on the slide itself, blurred, instead of black bars.
- See it in the phone. “In the post” shows TikTok’s photo mode with your caption and the buttons on top.
- Download. A ZIP with every slide at 1080 × 1920, in order.
How TikTok shows a photo carousel
- Every slide fills a 9:16 screen. Other shapes are shown whole, with black bars, so the bars change from slide to slide when the shapes differ.
- The buttons sit on top of your slide. The like, comment and share buttons run down the right, and your name and caption sit at the bottom. Keep text out of those areas; the TikTok safe zone checker shows them.
- People swipe sideways. Dots under the caption show how many slides there are.
Tips for slides people swipe through
- A cover that asks for the swipe. A big promise on slide 1, and “Swipe →” if it helps.
- Big text. On a phone, text under about 40 px on a 1080 × 1920 slide is hard to read.
- One idea per slide. Five to ten slides is a common length.
