Pictures made for the slide they’re on
Describe a picture, or let your writer suggest one, and the AI makes it in your theme’s style and in the shape of the spot it goes in. Stock photos, cut-outs and your own uploads are in the same window.
Describe it. Pick one. Use it.
Pictures go into the picture spots a layout provides. An empty spot says “Add a picture”.
- 01
Open the picture window
Click an empty picture spot, or select a picture and click AI picture in the toolbar or panel. The window, “Picture for slide N”, opens on the Generate tab.
- 02
Describe it, or let your writer
Write at least a few words, for example “a founder sketching a pricing table on a whiteboard, morning light”. Or click Write it for me and your writer suggests a description (1 AI edit). Leave the style on Auto to match the theme, then click Generate.
- 03
Pick one and use it
The results appear in a grid. Click Use on the one you like and it goes into the spot, with Adjust right there if you want to move or zoom it. Every picture you make is also kept in Your media, even if you close the window while it’s still being made.
Pictures planned with the carousel
When the AI writes a carousel, it can plan the pictures too, and pick layouts with picture spots where they fit.
Choose how many before you press Generate
On Home, More options › Pictures sets how many: Auto (where they help), No pictures, Cover only, A few or Every slide. Picture style is “Match the theme” or a style you choose.
While you have AI pictures left (100 a month on Pro, 400 on Team), up to 10 pictures are made right after the slides are written (“Making it with AI…”), each using 1 AI picture. Without AI pictures left, the carousel is made the same way and each picture spot keeps the AI’s idea: “The AI has an idea for it”. Click it to make that picture, or add your own or a stock photo.
Pictures that look like the rest of your slides
Your theme sets the style
Every theme sets the style of your AI pictures, so a new picture matches the colours and mood of the carousel it’s made for.
The spot sets the shape
A picture is made in the shape of the spot it goes in, wide or tall, so it fits the layout you picked.
Or describe your own style
Set one style for the whole carousel in Carousel › On every slide › Pictures, or in Customize theme › Style › AI picture style, where you can describe your own.
What makes a good slide picture
The best pictures on a carousel do a job: they show the result, one subject at a time, with room left for the words. That’s what this carousel says, and it’s a good brief for your descriptions too.
Say what’s in the picture, where and in what light, in a few words. “A tidy desk with one notebook, morning light” works better than “productivity”. If you’re stuck, Write it for me reads your slide and suggests one.
Want a person in the picture, or your own face on a slide? The guide to people and portraits on carousels explains what works.
Four ways to fill a picture spot
The picture window has four tabs. Only Generate uses AI pictures.
Generate
Describe the picture and the AI makes it for that spot. 1 AI picture each.
Stock photos
Search free photos, like “team meeting”. Filter by Photos or Cut-outs, by shape (Fits this spot, Any shape, Wide, Tall, Square) and by colour.
Your media
Pictures you uploaded or made earlier, ready to use again on any slide.
Upload
Drop a JPG, PNG or WebP up to 15 MB. Big pictures are reduced to 1,920 px on the long side, which is plenty for slides.
Crop, zoom and fit, right on the slide
Move it inside its frame
Select a picture and click Adjust, or double-click it. Drag the picture to move it inside its frame, and zoom with the mouse wheel, a pinch or the slider, from 50% to 400%.
Fill covers the whole frame; Fit shows the whole picture. There’s an Opacity slider and Reset. Press Enter or Done to keep it, Esc to put it back.
A photo can also run over onto the next slide: Spread onto the next slide. To move a picture, drag it onto another slide’s spot; if that spot has one, the two swap.
How many AI pictures you get
Each picture the AI makes or changes for you is one AI picture. Stock photos, uploads and downloads don’t use any.
AI pictures on each plan
| Plan | AI pictures | Comes back |
|---|---|---|
| Pro For one person | 100 a month | On the 1st of each month |
| Team | 400 a month | On the 1st of each month |
Without an account there are no AI pictures. Unused pictures don’t carry over. “Write it for me” uses 1 AI edit, not an AI picture.
When you run out
You see how many are left in the window. When they’re gone, new carousels still get their picture spots, each with the AI’s idea, so you can add your own picture or a stock photo.
If something fails
If a picture fails to generate, it doesn’t count against your AI pictures. You aren’t charged for an error.
Picture looks blurry?
Upload a larger original, pick a stock photo whose shape fits the spot, or use Fit instead of zooming in. Downloads are full quality (2×) on every plan.
Frequently asked questions
Can aiCarousels make pictures for my slides?
Yes. Describe a picture in a few words, or click Write it for me, and the AI makes it in your theme’s style and in the shape of the spot. You can also have pictures made with the carousel itself: More options › Pictures on Home.
How many AI pictures do I get?
Pro has 100 a month and Team 400, back on the 1st of each month. Without an account there are none.
What happens when I run out?
Carousels are still made the same way. The picture spots stay empty, each showing the AI’s idea, so you can add your own picture or a stock photo there.
Can I use my own photos instead?
Yes. Upload a JPG, PNG or WebP up to 15 MB, or search free stock photos and cut-outs. Neither uses an AI picture.
Do the pictures match my design?
Yes. Every theme sets the style of your AI pictures, and each one is made for the shape of its spot. You can also set one style for the whole carousel or describe your own.
Where are my pictures kept?
On the Media page, in this browser. On Pro and Team, the pictures your carousels use go with them to your other devices. Without an account they stay on the device where you added them.
