Start a carousel from whatever you have
An idea, a link, a video, a PDF, your notes, or slides another AI wrote. Pick what you’re starting from and the writer takes it from there.
From something you already made
Give it a link, a video, a file or your notes. The writer pulls out the main points and builds one slide around each, in your chosen voice. For long sources you can ask for the key lessons, a summary, or your exact words.

From an idea, or from nothing yet
One sentence is enough to start. No idea yet? Borrow a structure that already works, or let the writer suggest one.
One carousel, more posts
A finished carousel is material too: for the caption that goes with it or a single-image post.

The ways to start a carousel in aiCarousels
| Start from | What it uses | Best for | Guide |
|---|---|---|---|
| An idea | One sentence. The writer plans the slides from it. | Tips, opinions and lessons you already know | Topic to carousel |
| Article or web page | The article text on a public page. Pages behind a paywall or a sign-in can’t be read. | Blog posts, newsletters, case studies | URL to carousel |
| YouTube video | The video’s captions, so it needs captions. Shorts work too. | Talks, tutorials, interviews | YouTube to carousel |
| The text in the file. Scanned pages can’t be read. | Reports, decks, ebooks | PDF to carousel | |
| Paste text | Notes, a draft or a transcript, a few sentences at least. | Drafts, meeting notes, newsletters | Text to carousel |
| Outline | One line per slide, in your words. The writer writes each slide from its line. | When you already know what each slide says | Text to carousel |
| Import slides | Slides from ChatGPT, Claude or a file. Keep my words uses no AI. | Slides another AI or you already wrote | Import slides |
Frequently asked questions
What’s the quickest way to start a carousel?
Type one sentence about your idea and press Generate. The writer plans and writes the slides in about 30 to 60 seconds. Everything else can stay on Auto.
How much of a long source does it read?
On Pro the AI reads about the first 20,000 words of a PDF, page or pasted text. For a very long document, paste the chapter you want or put the important part first.
Can it keep my exact words?
Yes. With a long source, switch “From this text, use” to “My exact words”. If your slides are already written, use Import slides and choose “Keep my words”: each slide gets a matching layout and no AI touches the text.
Can I add a source and an idea together?
Yes. Once a source is added, the box asks what the carousel should focus on. It’s optional. You can use one source at a time.
A link won’t read. What can I do?
Pages behind a paywall or a sign-in, and pages with little text, can’t be read. Open the page, copy the text and use Paste text instead.
Which ways in work without AI?
Import slides with Keep my words, a blank carousel, and “Edit this example” on a template. None of them use AI or need an account.
