Your carousel as a LinkedIn PDF, or a PNG for every slide
Click Download and you get the file the app needs: one PDF with every slide for a LinkedIn document post, or PNG pictures, one per slide, for Instagram, TikTok, X and Threads. Full quality on every plan.
The right file for each app
The Download button follows the platform you chose: it says “Download PDF” for LinkedIn and “Download PNGs” for the others. The small arrow next to it opens “Download as”, if you want the other one.
What each app gets
| Posting on | Click | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Download PDF | One PDF with every slide, in order. You post it as a document. | |
| Download PNGs | A ZIP with one PNG per slide. Up to 20 pictures make one carousel. | |
| TikTok | Download PNGs | One 9:16 PNG per slide for a photo carousel, up to 35. |
| X | Download PNGs | One PNG per slide. X shows four per post, so post a longer carousel in groups of four. |
| Threads | Download PNGs | One PNG per slide, up to 20 per post. |
| An image post | Download | One PNG, no ZIP. |
| Reels, TikTok and Shorts | Video (swipe) | Your slides as a short video, each one on screen for a couple of seconds with a swipe between them. |
The app remembers your last choice for each platform.
On a computer the PNGs come in one ZIP, numbered name-01.png, name-02.png and so on, so they stay in order when you upload them to Instagram or any other app. A project with a single slide, like an image post, downloads as one plain PNG. The file is named after your project, so give it a title you’ll recognise.
Made the carousel for Instagram and now want the LinkedIn PDF? Change the platform at the top of the editor (the chip that says, for example, “Instagram · 3:4”) or open Preview, pick the LinkedIn tab and click Switch to LinkedIn and download. The slides are resized for LinkedIn first. More on sizes for each app.
From the editor to a file in five steps
Everything happens in the editor. You can also press Ctrl/⌘ + E to open Download.
- 01
Pick where you’ll post
The platform chip at the top of the editor sets the app and the size. For LinkedIn, 4:5 is recommended: it’s the biggest a document shows in the feed. Square (1:1) works too.
- 02
Click Download
The black button at the top right. The window is called “Download for LinkedIn” (or for the app you chose) and offers PDF and Images (PNG), with the right one picked for you.
- 03
Fix what it flags
The window checks your carousel first. Yellow items are warnings, and you can still download: an empty picture spot (it would come out as a blank tile), the made-up “Your name” still in your signature, or text boxes too small for their words.
- 04
Wait a few seconds
You see “Drawing slide 3 of 5…” and a progress bar. Cancel (or Esc) stops it, and nothing in your project changes.
- 05
Post it
The “How to post on LinkedIn” window lists the steps for that app, with Copy caption and Mark as posted, which tags the project as Posted on your Projects page. Tick “Don’t show this again for LinkedIn” to skip it next time.
Post the PDF as a document
LinkedIn shows a PDF as a carousel people swipe through, page by page. It goes up from a computer more reliably than from the phone app.
On linkedin.com
Click Start a post, then + (more), then Add a document. Upload the PDF and give it a title when LinkedIn asks: people see the title on the post. Paste your caption and post. LinkedIn shows about three lines of the caption before “…more”, so the hook goes first.
The LinkedIn phone app can’t always post a document. On a phone, aiCarousels offers Send the PDF to my computer when it can, so you can share the file by mail, AirDrop or Files and post it from there.
Step by step, with pictures: how to post a PDF on LinkedIn and how to post a carousel on LinkedIn.
Full quality, whatever your plan
Pro and Team download the same sharp file, with every layout and theme and no mark.
HD on every plan
Every download has twice the pixels: 2,160 px wide for a standard slide. There’s nothing to switch on.
No mark
Pro and Team downloads have no “Made with aiCarousels” mark. The slides are yours. A free account’s carry a small one.
Sharp pictures
A small photo stays blurry whatever the export. Upload a bigger one: the Media page shows each picture’s size.
Judge the real post
LinkedIn, Instagram and the others compress uploads a little. Look at the post itself before you decide it’s soft.
Who can download
| Account | What you can download |
|---|---|
| No account | Nothing. You can make one carousel from your idea and change every word, but downloading needs an account. |
| Free account | PDF and PNG in HD with a small “Made with aiCarousels” mark, with the free layouts and themes, up to 8 slides. |
| Pro | Every format with no mark, with every layout and theme, up to 20 slides. |
| Team | The same as Pro, for 5 people on one bill. See Team. |
Downloading doesn’t use AI carousels, AI pictures or AI edits.
On a phone, or several at once
Download on a phone
Choose Download PNGs. The app makes the pictures and opens your phone’s share sheet (“Choose where to save them”): pick your photos, or send them straight to an app. If your phone can’t open the share sheet, each slide is saved as a separate file.
Close the share sheet and nothing is lost: the window stays so you can try again. More in aiCarousels on your phone.
Download several projects from Projects
On the Projects page, tick the round checkbox on each card (Shift-click for a range) and click Download in the bar. Or use a card’s ⋯ menu › Download… to get one without opening it.
Each project comes out in the best format for where it’s posted: a PDF for LinkedIn, PNGs for the other apps. Several projects come as one ZIP. More about Projects.
Download problems and fixes
What you see and what to do
| You see | What to do |
|---|---|
| “The download failed. Try again.” | Try again. Close other heavy tabs, and if the carousel has a lot of large pictures, use fewer or smaller ones. |
| Nothing seems to download | Look in your browser’s Downloads list and check downloads aren’t blocked for the site. The file is named after your project. |
| The Download button is greyed out | Fix the red items in the window, then download. |
| LinkedIn won’t take the file | Check you chose PDF, not the PNG ZIP, and upload it from linkedin.com on a computer. LinkedIn can refuse a very large file, so use fewer or lighter pictures. |
| Instagram won’t take the ZIP | Unzip it first (double-click it on a computer), then upload the PNGs from the folder in one go. They’re numbered, so they stay in order. |
| A slide came out blank | Its picture spot was empty. Add a picture, then download. |
| Stuck on “Drawing slide…” | Click Cancel and start again. Nothing is lost. |
Already have slides made somewhere else? The free images to PDF converter puts them into one PDF, and the LinkedIn PDF checker tells you if the page size, the pictures or the text will look wrong once it’s posted. Going the other way, from a PDF to slides? See how to turn a PDF into a carousel.
Frequently asked questions
How do I download my carousel as a PDF?
Set the platform chip to LinkedIn and click Download PDF, or press Ctrl/⌘ + E. If the carousel is set up for another app, click the small arrow next to Download and choose PDF. You get one file with every slide, in order.
Can I download without the watermark?
Yes, with Pro and Team: their downloads have no “Made with aiCarousels” mark. A free account’s downloads carry a small one.
Do I need an account to download?
Yes: a free account downloads with a small mark, and Pro and Team with none. Without an account you can make one carousel from your idea and change every slide, but you can’t download it.
Why does LinkedIn need a PDF?
LinkedIn posts a carousel as a document, and the document is a PDF: people swipe through it page by page. Download PDF gives you one file with every slide, ready for Add a document.
Why does my download look blurry?
Downloads are full quality on every plan, so it is usually a small picture on a slide. Upload a larger photo, use the recommended size for the app, and judge the real post: the apps compress uploads a little.
Can I download a carousel as a video?
Yes. Any carousel with more than one slide has Video (swipe) in its Download list: your slides as a short video for Reels, TikTok and Shorts. Chrome, Edge and Safari make an MP4.
