How to resize a picture for social media
- Add your picture. Pick it, drop it or paste it. It’s read on your device and never uploaded. Or try the sample.
- Choose the sizes. The popular ones are already selected; tick any others, or pick “All”.
- Choose what to keep. Each size shows in its real shape. Drag a picture to move the crop, or switch one size to “Fit inside” to keep the whole picture on a colour or on a blurred copy of it.
- Download. One size, or every size you picked in a ZIP, each named with its platform and pixels.

Profile pictures have their own tool: the profile picture tester shows yours in every app’s circle.
Crop or fit?
- Crop to fill uses the whole frame and cuts what doesn’t fit. Best for photos, where a little at the edges doesn’t matter. Drag to keep faces and words in.
- Fit inside keeps the whole picture and fills the rest with a colour or with a blurred copy of the picture. Best for designs, logos and pictures with text near the edges.
- Wide banners crop the most. A 4:1 LinkedIn banner keeps only a strip of a normal photo: choose the strip, or fit it.
Tips for pictures that look sharp everywhere
- Start big. A picture of at least 2000 px on its long side covers almost every size without being enlarged.
- Keep the subject in the middle. The middle survives every crop, from square to banner.
- Mind what covers the edges. Stories and Reels have buttons at the bottom and the profile at the top; banners have your photo over one corner.
