How to preview your Threads profile
- Add your profile picture. Or “Try a sample” to see how it works first.
- Write your name, username and bio. The counters follow Threads’ limits: 150 characters for the bio.
- Add your link and followers. They show under the bio, as on Threads.
- Add threads. Write a few, add an image, pin one.
- Check phone and desktop, light and dark, and download the preview as a picture.
Your profile stays in this browser. The pictures are read on your device and never uploaded.
No banner: your picture and bio do the work
Threads has no cover image. People see your name, your picture, a few lines of bio and your first threads, and that’s it. Make each one count: a clear photo, a bio that says what you post, and a pinned thread that shows it.
Threads profile limits (2026)
| What | Size or limit |
|---|---|
| Profile picture | At least 320 × 320 px, shown as a circle |
| Username | Up to 30 characters (your Instagram username) |
| Bio | Up to 150 characters |
| Post | Up to 500 characters |
Tips for a Threads profile people follow
- Say what you post. One line in the bio: the topic and who it’s for.
- Pin your best thread. It’s the first thing under your profile.
- Use images. In a feed of text, a post with images stands out.
